Commercial real estate made simple
Small commercial real estate owners in Canada face numerous challenges when managing their properties. Many struggle with managing tasks such as tenant relations, maintenance, and finances, leaving them with little time for other pursuits.
To understand the needs of small commercial real estate owners, we conducted Landing page tests, surveys, interviews, and focus groups with a diverse group of property owners. We also analyzed existing real estate management platforms and websites to identify opportunities for improvement.
The initial design was based on helping the owner/operator find CRE data and receive market insight and customized analysis to help in making better-informed decisions on their property
After different research phases, we designed a platform that integrates all aspects of property management, including tenant relations, maintenance, and finances. The platform features a user-friendly interface and provides valuable insights and recommendations for managing properties more effectively.
The final product is a platform that makes property management easier and more efficient for small commercial real estate owners in Canada. The platform provides an all-in-one solution for managing properties, including tenant relations, maintenance, and finances.
We tested the platform with a small group of beta users to gather feedback and refine the product. Based on their feedback, we made several updates to the user interface and added additional features, such as the ability to communicate with tenants and track the status of maintenance tasks.
Convincing small commercial real estate owners to use the platform and integrate it into their workflow may be a challenge.
Building a platform that integrates data from a variety of sources, such as financial data and maintenance reports, can be technically complex. Ensuring that the platform is reliable and secure may also pose a challenge.
Keeping the platform up-to-date and relevant to property owners' needs will require ongoing research and development, which may be a challenge.
