Solution

To address this issue, we developed a platform that helps homeowners track their home maintenance. The platform includes a Virtual Home Checkup, Insights, and a Customized Maintenance Plan to assist homeowners in keeping their homes in top condition.

User research

To understand the needs of homeowners, we conducted surveys, interviews, and landing page tests with a diverse group of homeowners. We also analyzed existing home maintenance platforms and apps to identify opportunities for improvement.

Our research showed that homeowners:

• Need a centralized place to keep track of their home maintenance tasks
• Want a platform that provides personalized recommendations for home maintenance
• Need a way to easily understand the condition of their home
• Want a platform that is easy to use and accessible from any device

Design & development

Based on our research, we designed a platform that features a Virtual Home Checkup, Insights, and Customized Maintenance Plan. The Virtual Home Checkup is a visual inspection of a home's key areas, including roof, gutters, siding, and more. The Insights section provides data-driven recommendations for home maintenance tasks, based on the homeowner's location and home type. The Customized Maintenance Plan is a personalized schedule of recommended home maintenance tasks, which can be easily accessed and updated by the homeowner.

Testing & iteration

We tested the platform with a small group of beta users to gather feedback and refine the product. Based on their feedback, we made several updates to the user interface and added additional features, such as the ability to set reminders and track progress.

Outcome

The final product is a platform that helps homeowners track their home maintenance and keep their homes in good condition. The Virtual Home Checkup, Insights, and Customized Maintenance Plan provide homeowners with the tools they need to make informed decisions about home maintenance. The platform has received positive feedback from beta users and is ready for launch.
